What are Splash Pass Biometrics?

To dramatically streamline the Splash Pass purchase process and make using your Splash Pass easier and more secure, we have eliminated taking photos for Splash Pass cards! Instead of a photo, we collect biometric information from one finger when you use your Splash Pass for the first time.  This process identifies you as the only guest who may use the Splash Pass. When you scan your Splash Pass ticket on future visits, your biometric information is compared to the stored value and will allow entry if it matches. This process is safe and fast!

• We do not collect finger prints! The scanner (at the entry turnstile) scans for the swirls and arcs of your finger to create a grid of intersecting points. These points are then stored as a series of coordinating numbers only. On future visits, the number series collected will be compared to that from your first visit.  No fingerprint images are ever recorded or stored.  Since we store a number only, a fingerprint cannot be recreated and privacy is maintained.
• How is the biometric information Safeguarded? Again, we do not store a fingerprint , only a numeric, encrypted value which represents distances between certain points on the finger. This information is not “coded” within the barcode on your Splash Pass ticket but only in a secured, encrypted, separate database. Water World does not sell, share or rent any guest demographic data, including biometric data with any other party. Biometric data is not shared with any law enforcement agency.
