Q: What is Water World's operating season?
A: Water World is open traditionally from the last weekend in May until Labor day, weather permitting, with some closed days at the start of the season and at the end of the season, because of schools being in session. Please click on our season schedule button on this web site to find out exact operating days.
Q: What are Water World's operating hours?
A: Water World is open from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m., weather permitting.
Q: What does "limited attractions/services" mean?
A: Many of our summer staff are still in school during these days, so we are not able to operate all of the attractions. We are able to keep open about 70-75% of all attractions, however, and we will always keep our premier attractions open. Some food service facilities will be affected during this week, also. Q: How can I apply for a job at Water World, and how old must I be?
A: Water World applications are available on-line,and traditionally available beginning the first week in February, and applicants must be at least 14 years of age. Applications may be picked up at the Administration Building at 88th Ave. and Pecos St. Job opportunities available include Lifeguard, Cashier, Host, Food Service, Grounds Maintenance, Water Quality, and Gondola Operator.
Q: Are swim diapers required on tots?
A: Yes, swim diapers are required on tots 3 and under. Swim diapers may be purchased at the gift shop for $.50.
Q: What can I bring in to Water World?
A: Personal flotation devices, including children's water wings, are not allowed in any of the attractions. Picnic lunches may be brought in, but alcoholic beverages, beverage containers that are not factory sealed, and glass containers of any kind are not allowed inside the park. Barbeque grills are not allowed. Pets are not allowed unless they are a guide dog used by a visually disabled guest. Portable umbrellas and tents are not allowed, for safety reasons.
Q: Must I pay admission, even though I am not going to swim?
A: Yes, all guests are required to pay admission to get into the park. There is no way to separate or regulate those who are not using the attractions. Q: Are there any additional fees once I get in to Water World?
A: In addition to food purchases, we recommend that you rent a locker for your valuables. Costs are $8 for an all day locker which includes a $5 deposit, or $.50 per entry lockers. Locker sizes are 12 in. x 12 in. x 18 in. Also, rental tubes are available for $5 which includes a $1 deposit. (see inner tube rental under our welcome/general information page on this web site )
Q: Is the water heated?
A: Yes, we heat the water. Average water temperature is 77-80 degrees. This varies based on evening temperatures and current weather conditions.
Q: Do you rent towels?
A: No, but we do sell them in our gift shop. Average price is $6-$12.
Q: Is the food at Water World expensive?
A: No. The cost for a cheeseburger, fries, and soda is approximately $7.
Q: Do you have lifeguards on duty?
A: Yes. We have certified lifeguards on all of our attractions. Our lifeguards are placed through a rigorous national training program and consistently rank very high in national ratings. Audits are conducted throughout the season.
Q: Do you have an ATM machine?
A: Yes we do. It is conveniently located on the south side of ticket booth 12, directly across from Group Sales at the front entrance. There is a $2 service fee per transaction.
Q: What rules are there concerning dress code?
A: We recommend proper swimming attire. Cutoff shorts are accepted, only if there are no rivets on the shorts. Thong bikinis are not allowed. Any guest wearing clothing that is offensive, such as clothing with profanity, will be asked to change, or leave the park.
Q: What if I have baby food or medication in glass containers?
A: We will hold those particular items for you in Guest Services. No other items will be held.
Q: Does Water World offer rainchecks in case of inclement weather?
A: Keep your admission ticket! If all attractions are closed for 60 minutes due to inclement weather, rainchecks are issued to guests on property in exchange for your same day admission ticket. Management reserves the right to close the park at any time and issue full or late-day rainchecks. No refunds or early issued rainchecks are given.
