BioTix Technology Explained!
|
| What is BioTix Technology? To dramatically streamline the Splash Pass purchase process and make using your Splash Pass easier and more secure, we have eliminated taking photos for Splash Pass cards! Instead of a photo, we collect biometric information from one finger when you use your Splash Pass for the first time. This process identifies you as the only guest who may use the Splash Pass. When you scan your Splash Pass ticket on future visits, your biometric information is compared to the stored value and will allow entry if it matches. This process is safe and fast! What kind of information is collected? We do not collect finger prints! The BioTix reader (at the entry turnstile) scans one fingertip for its fingerprint information. The scanner will image a series of points on your finger measuring the distance between them. This distance is then assigned a numeric value which identifies you as the correct pass holder. We do not store your entire fingerprint image! What types of Water World tickets utilize the BioTix Technology? At this time, all Splash Pass (season pass) and multi-day Hang Ten tickets will use this technology in lieu of a picture. How is the biometric information Safeguarded? Again, we do not store the entire fingerprint image, only a numeric, encrypted value which represents distances between certain points on the finger. This information is not “coded” within the barcode on your Splash Pass ticket but only in a secured, encrypted, separate database. Biometric information is purged at the completion of each Water World season. Water World does not sell, share or rent any guest demographic data, including biometric data with any other party. Biometric data is not shared with any law enforcement agency. Can I opt out of the BioTix program? Guests who wish not to participate in the biometric program may do so by requesting to opt-out at Guest Services. The biometric reader is placed 48” in height and convenient for most disabled guests. Guests who wish to opt out of this program must provide a valid, government issued photo ID card matching their current appearance each time the Splash Pass ticket is used (including children). You will be required to enter at a designated turnstile. Please be advised that this form of entry may be slower than the biometric program. |
