Water World Open, Receives Tri-County Health Thumps Up!

FEDERAL HEIGHTS, COLORADO -- June 15, 2018: Hyland Hills Water World opened its doors at 10 a.m. today after receiving clearance from Tri-County Health Department to do so. Tri-County staff was on site early Friday morning, prior to the park opening for a final review and issued a report indicating Water World was approved to reopen.

“We want to thank Tri-County Health Department, Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, and the City of Federal Heights for their response, assistance and collaboration in the past few days which enabled us to proceed with confidence in reassuring our guests that they are safe to enjoy Water World,” said park spokesperson, Joann Cortez.

The park opened this morning to an impressive crowd of excited park goers, evidenced by a solid and consistent flow of guests entering at the park’s main gate. It is expected to be a good day of attendance.

“Water world worked closely with Tri-County Health Department to sanitize, test and confirm that the water in drinking fountains, ice machines, concession stands, and swimming pools is safe.

However, people ingesting water at Water World on June 11, 12, or 13 can still become ill up to 45 days after exposure. Symptoms may include vomiting, diarrhea and fever. Anyone experiencing these symptoms who visited Water World on those three days should call the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment at 303-692-2700; and then contact their health care provider. Their doctor can check for pathogens sometimes found in untreated water and then recommend appropriate treatment.” According to the Tri-County Health Department.
