Water World is owned & operated by the Hyland Hills Park & Recreation District (“District”). By entering Water World, you agree to follow all applicable laws, District rules, & Water World rules, including those set forth in the District’s Rules & Regulations for Open Space & Facilities. A violation of the General Rules & Regulations for Parks, Trails, Open Space & Facilities constitutes a violation of Colorado law pursuant to 18-9-117, C.R.S. & may be subject to law enforcement action. Additionally, violations of Water World or District rules, or other inappropriate behavior (as determined by management), may result in removal from the park (for a day, the season or a longer period) without reimbursement and/or law enforcement action.
- WARNING! You assume the risk of injury on any attraction. By entering Water World, you are agreeing & consenting to the terms of Water World’s Release of Liability, Assumption of Risk, Waiver & Convenant Not to Sue, which is available at WaterWorldColorado.com. Printed copies are available at Guest Services.
- Water World is NOT responsible for lost/stolen items. Please use a locker and always safeguard your key or code.
- Park at your own risk, lock your vehicle, and keep valuables out of sight.
For your safety, we use electronic screening devices and manual property searches upon arrival, which is mandatory prior to park entry. Ask for the Security Manager if you have questions about this technology. Water World reserves the right to prohibit any items at its discretion, including without limitation:
- General Items: Glass containers (including glass baby bottles), alcoholic beverages not purchased at Water World, BBQ grills, cooking devices/appliances, knives, personal shade structures (including personal umbrellas larger than 54″ in diameter), tents/shade structures, personal flotation devices/inflatables, drones, skateboards, roller shoes, bicycles & motorized devices (except those assisting the disabled).
- Oversized Coolers: Coolers that exceed Water World’s maximum size dimension policies.
- Pets: Pets are NOT PERMITTED, except for service animals assisting the disabled. Emotional support animals DO NOT qualify as service animals and will NOT be permitted into the park. LEAVING YOUR PET IN YOUR VEHICLE IS NOT PERMITTED.
- Weapons: Firearms and weapons, including, but not limited to guns (of ANY style or configuration, including toy or simulation versions), knives/cutters (of ANY styles), scissors, blades/files, ammunition, bows & arrows, brass knuckles, billy clubs, bull whips, nunchakus, mace/pepper spray, throwing stars, martial arts devices, or tools of any kind.
- Dangerous & Concerning Materials: Including, but not limited to, CO2 cartridges, explosives, fireworks, flammable materials, caustic/acid materials, butane/propane gases, paints, markers & lighter fluids.
- Smoking & Drugs: SMOKING (including electronic cigarettes and vape devices) IS PERMITTED IN DESIGNATED AREAS ONLY. The carrying or use of THC, marijuana (medical or legal, including food-based products), or ANY illegal drug is NOT PERMITTED.
Guest behaviors, which disrupt the experiences of other guests, or impact Water World operations, as determined by management, are NOT permitted, including without limitation:
- Inappropriate or commercial photography or video recordings of others, without their permission, including without limitation recording that violate Colorado laws.
- For guest safety, each Water World attraction has rules restricting the use of “Go-Pro” devices or other cameras, and only chest-strapped devices may be permitted on select attractions. Selfie sticks are NOT permitted on ALL attractions.
- Vandalism or destruction of park property, including tubes.
- Spitting, dropping, or throwing objects.
- Fighting, harassment, physical aggression, using offensive language/hand gestures, sexual harassment, lewd or inappropriate behavior or touching.
- Actions which endanger, disrupt, or cause a safety risk to other guests or Water World team members, including horseplay (as determined by management).
- Obscene clothing & tattoos must be covered. Proper swimwear is required and must cover body parts appropriately. The following swimwear looks are NOT permitted:
- Denim or swimwear with metal adornments, zippers, rivets, or snaps.
- Wearing underwear as a substitute for swimwear.
- G-String or thong-style swimwear.
- Nudity of ANY kind.
- Costume face masks, bandanas, or other full-face coverings.
- Intoxication or substance impairment.
- Unauthorized use of emergency exists, entry into restricted or Team Member Only areas, climbing fences, or unauthorized entry.
- Inappropriate queuing behaviors, such as “cutting” in line, line holding, jumping or bypassing queueing lanes/rails.
- Illegal activities, including theft.
- Selling or reselling of a park ticket or service, or abuse/fraudulent use of re-entry or service policies. Guests MUST provide proof of admission if requested.
- Refusing to follow verbal and/or printed instructions, or failure to comply with directions from park team members or park security.
- We recommend that minors (under the age of 13) be accompanied by a responsible party (ages 16 or older), who can chaperone and monitor the actions and behaviors of the minor, including their safety.
- Parents! You must know who your children are visiting the park with. Water World is NOT responsible for babysitting your child, arranging rides home (including in the event of early park closures), assuring that they eat or make other purchases, take medications, monitoring their overall behavior or otherwise monitoring their presence or departure from the property.
- Water World does NOT assume any responsibility for unattended minors or their acts or behaviors. Parents, you are solely liable for your minor’s actions.
- In the event a minor is removed from the park or is unattended at the end of the day, we will do our best to contact a parent/guardian as a courtesy, based on the information your child provides. Law enforcement action may be taken.
Guests should always observe the attraction before deciding to ride. Guests who are pregnant or have physical ailments should consult their medical provider before riding. Guests over 250 lbs. may experience abnormal exposure to discomfort or injury.
Read, understand, listen to, and follow all park guidelines, safety and ride signage, and Water World team member instructions. Failure to do so may result in serious injury to yourself or others.
- Guests must have the physical/cognitive ability to hold themselves in the proper riding position throughout the course of every attraction, which include remaining upright when seated in an attraction tube/vehicle.
- Observe and ask questions of team members about each attraction before entering.
- Observe and comply with height requirements and weight restrictions.
- DO NOT unduly coerce others to ride an attraction that they are uncomfortable riding.
- DO NOT exceed your physical ability.
- DO NOT participate on an attraction if impaired in any fashion, including by alcohol or drugs.
- Lifeguards are here to help but cannot take the place of a parent or guardian in supervising or safeguarding your child. This is primarily your responsibility. Parents, if your kids are in water, you should be too.
- Water World provides lifejackets free of charge at any Guest Service, Personal Tube Exchange, or other locations; please use them for weak or non-swimmers. If you need assistance with a particular size, please contact a team member.
- Eyeglasses must be secured before entering attractions. We will not suspend operations of attractions to look for lost eyewear.
- Zippers, rivets, or snaps are not permitted on the side or back of swimwear.
- Footwear is not allowed on most fiberglass attractions. Please observe signage on each attraction.
- Some attractions have individual and vehicle weight restrictions, as noted on attraction signage. Need to check your individual weight? Scales are provided at most First Aid locations throughout the park.
- DO NOT enter any attraction if you or anyone in your group has experienced a stomach and/or intestinal illness or diarrhea within the past two weeks, or if these symptons appear during your visit.
- Diaper-dependent children must wear approved waterproof swim diapers in all pools and attractions (available for sale in the Island Breeze Surf Shop).
- Change diapers in restroom facilities only and wash your hands afterwards.
- Take your children to the bathroom frequently.
